Senior Scala Full-Stack Developer

We’re looking for a Senior Scala Full-Stack Developer to join our team in Malaga, Spain in a hybrid working mode. In this role, you will contribute to building a strategic oversight platform that manages and monitors trade-generation activities for one of the world’s largest hedge funds. This position offers you the opportunity to work at the intersection of trading, technology, and AI, designing systems that directly affect investment execution and business outcomes.

You will collaborate with experienced investors, traders, and engineers, working across the full stack - from intuitive React-based user interfaces to high-performance backend services - while leveraging modern cloud infrastructure and AI-enabled development practices. Responsibilities

• Design, build and support mission-critical applications for trading and investment teams
• Develop modern frontend applications using React for highly sophisticated users
• Build scalable backend services with Java, Scala and additional technologies such as Go or Python
• Design and optimize APIs, data models and database solutions
• Develop and maintain cloud-native infrastructure and deployment pipelines using Kubernetes and Terraform
• Contribute to architecture, engineering standards and best practices across the technology stack
• Leverage AI-powered development tools to enhance productivity and code quality
• Partner with investors and traders to solve complex business and technical challenges
• Drive reliability, scalability, and operational excellence in distributed systems
• Evaluate and help implement emerging AI capabilities across engineering workflows

• 10+ years of professional software development experience in high-performance engineering environments
• Strong computer science fundamentals: algorithms, data structures, distributed systems, concurrency, design principles
• Extensive backend development experience with Scala and/or Java
• Strong frontend development experience with React
• Proficiency with SQL and database-driven application design
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and solid understanding of SDLC and engineering best practices
• Experience building and operating large-scale production systems
• Ability to work across multiple technical areas: frontend, backend services, infrastructure, and DevOps practices

• Knowledge of Go and Python
• Exposure to AI-assisted development workflows and interest in AI adoption within engineering processes
