Job description

The IT Support Technician is a detail-oriented and knowledgeable team member responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the company’s computer systems and network infrastructure. This position ensures that all users have reliable access to necessary technological resources and helps resolve any technical issues that arise.

Essential Functions:

  • Support and maintain computer hardware, including desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
  • Install, configure, and update software applications and operating systems.
  • Monitor and manage network performance, ensuring stable and secure connectivity for all users.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to both local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs).
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, upgrades, and support interactions.
  • Collaborate with the Director of IT to implement new technologies and improve existing systems.
  • Implement and enforce cybersecurity best practices to protect company data and systems.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years’ experience in computer and network support, or a related IT role or
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or IT; alternatively Comp TIA A+ or Comp TIA Network +
  • Familiarity with networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP) and equipment (e.g., routers, switches).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written on a technical level as well as communicating technical concepts to non-technical users
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical data
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills to handle a diverse range of issues
  • Good time-management skills.
  • Skilled in excellent customer service and communication
  • Excellent technical knowledge of network and PC hardware, including Microsoft platform
  • Working knowledge of email systems, computer hardware, and peripherals
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
