Job description

We’re looking for a hands-on contractor who can move fluidly between hardware and software work to support a growing portfolio of multi-site human data collection studies. You’ll be the technical glue that helps studies launch, run smoothly across sites, and incorporate new capture hardware as it comes online., * 2-3 years of hardware and software experience

  • Provide remote and in-person technical support to data collection sites - debugging capture rigs, network issues, and pipeline failures.
  • Help bring up new studies: configure capture systems, set up protocols, validate end-to-end data flow, and train moderators.
  • Test new hardware and qualify it for production use.
  • Design, prototype, and build custom capture systems and supporting hardware (including PCBs).
  • Write and maintain scripts and small tools that automate common moderator and operations workflows.

Requirements

  • Strong Python and general software development skills.
  • PCB design experience (schematic capture and layout).
  • Comfortable working independently across hardware and software domains.
  • Strong debugging instincts and willingness to travel between sites as needed.
  • Proficiency in Bash scripting and Linux command-line tools.

Preferred

  • Working knowledge of camera systems (image sensors, lenses, calibration, sync). Logistics
  • Onsite required; cross-site travel expected.
