Job description

The ABAP Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting application solutions within SAP environments, including R/3 and S/4HANA. This role involves building and enhancing complex application components, integrating software across multiple platforms, and contributing to both customer-facing implementations and internal development projects. Key duties include developing and refining ABAP-based functionality, creating automated unit testing frameworks, and building RESTful and SOAP API interfaces for SAP components. The developer will analyze customer requirements, evaluate new SAP features, and support project deliverables such as testing strategies, cutover plans, and hypercare activities. This position requires hands-on involvement with RICEFW development, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across SAP landscapes. Strong experience with ERP technologies, SAP development tools, and modern SAP methodologies is essential., * Hybrid role including customer-facing implementations and internal projects.

  • Individual contributor application developer role.
  • Design, develop, and support application solutions in R3 and S/4 HANA.
  • Develop and/or re-engineer highly complex application components and integrate software packages, programs, and reusable objects across multiple platforms.
  • Help design and implement automated unit testing frameworks using ABAP Units / ABAP Double.
  • Develop RESTful and SOAP-based API interfaces for SAP components for external consumption and cloud deployments.
  • Research and analyze customer requirements and SAP S/4HANA / SAP Business Suite functionality.
  • Contribute to deliverables including testing strategy, cutover plan, and hypercare plan.
  • Provide feedback and solutions for escalated items and key decisions.
  • Assist hands-on with RICEFW development as needed.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of ERP experience, preferably SAP; technical consulting experience in SAP, ABAP, HANA, and Fiori.
  • 3-6 years of ABAP experience also welcome.
  • Multiple SAP implementations.
  • Experience across upgrades, acquisitions, divestitures, and AMS.
  • Ability to manage and motivate individuals and teams.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve cross-functional issues.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into system solutions.
  • Detail-oriented and goal-focused.
  • Knowledge of project management standards and knowledge areas.
  • Knowledge of Waterfall SDLC, Agile SCRUM, and SAP ASAP.
