Java Project Manager - Job DescriptionJob Title: Java Project Manager Location: Sunnyvale ,CA / Day1 Onsite Client : Infosys /Apple About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Java Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of Java-based software development projects. The ideal candidate combines strong technical understanding of Java and enterprise application development with proven project management expertise, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and finalize Java application development projects according to strict deadlines and budgets
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders and senior management
  • Develop full-scale project plans, timelines, and resource allocation schedules
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams including Java developers, QA engineers, business analysts, and DevOps
  • Manage the technical direction of projects, ensuring alignment with Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, microservices, or other relevant architectures
  • Track project performance using appropriate tools and techniques (Agile/Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall as applicable)
  • Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives (if using Agile methodology)
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and issues
  • Manage project budget, resource utilization, and vendor/contractor relationships
  • Communicate project status, risks, and milestones to stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards, architecture guidelines, and quality benchmarks
  • Coordinate testing, UAT, deployment, and post-implementation support
  • Manage change requests and scope changes through formal change control processes
  • Conduct project retrospectives and create recommendations reports to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in software project management, with a strong focus on Java-based projects
  • Solid understanding of Java, J2EE, Spring/Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST APIs, and microservices architecture
  • Experience with SDLC methodologies (Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, or Hybrid)
  • Proficiency with project management tools (Jira, Confluence, MS Project, Trello, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of databases (SQL/NoSQL), CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification preferred
  • Experience with version control systems (Git) and build tools (Maven/Gradle)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior hands-on experience as a Java Developer or Technical Lead
  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI)
  • Experience managing distributed/offshore development teams
  • Knowledge of enterprise integration patterns and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
