Job description

The Team Development Liaison serves as the bridge between ownership and the daily work crew. This role is responsible for supporting field operations while cultivating a strong team culture rooted in accountability, personal growth, operational excellence, and servant leadership.

This is a hands-on leadership position that requires flexibility, initiative, and a willingness to serve wherever needed. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable leading a morning team meeting, mentoring an employee, solving operational challenges, organizing the shop, or stepping into the field to support the crew.

As Hope Seals continues to grow, this individual will become a key leader in helping build systems, develop people, and strengthen our mission of restoring pavement while rebuilding lives.

Primary ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Development

  • Lead and support daily field operations.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and excellence.
  • Mentor, encourage, and coach team members through daily interactions.
  • Assist with onboarding and ongoing employee development.
  • Help maintain a positive, Christ-centered workplace culture.
  • Address challenges with professionalism while supporting both the individual and the team.
  • Serve as a dependable leader who models integrity, humility, and servant leadership.

Operations Support

  • Coordinate daily shop operations alongside ownership.
  • Assist with production scheduling and daily priorities.
  • Organize inventory, equipment, and materials.
  • Coordinate truck loading and unloading.
  • Help monitor equipment maintenance and minimize downtime.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and workflow.

Administrative & Customer Support

  • Communicate with customers as needed regarding scheduling and project updates.
  • Support scheduling adjustments due to weather or operational changes.
  • Assist with data entry, spreadsheets, document management, and general office support.
  • Support estimating, job preparation, and operational planning.

Field Support

This is not strictly a management position. Leaders at Hope Seals are expected to understand every aspect of the business and lead by example.

The successful candidate should be willing to:

  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Perform physical labor.
  • Learn all aspects of asphalt maintenance and construction operations.
  • Deliver materials and supplies to jobsites.
  • Support the crew wherever needed to keep projects moving efficiently.

Requirements

  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Experience leading teams in construction, manufacturing, landscaping, or similar industries.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Comfortable using Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Highly Valued Experience (Not Required)

  • Ministry leadership or volunteer leadership.
  • Nonprofit or community outreach experience.
  • Prison reentry, workforce development, or mentoring experience.
  • Experience coaching, discipling, or developing others.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment where priorities can shift throughout the day.

Benefits & conditions

This is a full-time seasonal leadership position, typically operating April through November during our asphalt season. As Hope Seals continues expanding into year-round programming, nonprofit initiatives, and correctional institution partnerships, there is strong potential for this position to grow into a year-round leadership opportunity.

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour

Benefits:

  • Professional development assistance
