Software Engineering Information Technology Vulnerability Analysis

Job description

You will work closely with software, hardware, and security stakeholders to design and implement robust systems while ensuring that security considerations are incorporated throughout the development process. This role provides the opportunity to influence design and implementation of products at the intersection of networking, cybersecurity, and quantum communications., * Assess and reduce the attack surface of Ubuntu, PetaLinux, and other Linux-based systems that are core to the OS we use.

  • Develop and maintain certificate and key management functionality, including certificate provisioning, secure storage, rotation, and lifecycle management.
  • Evaluate approaches for secure key storage using technologies such as TPMs, HSMs, PUFs, and other hardware-assisted security mechanisms.
  • Integrate vulnerability scanning, malware scanning, and security testing into development and release processes.
  • Contribute to management and control interfaces based on NETCONF/YANG and related technologies.
  • Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions

Requirements

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced C++ Senior Software Engineer specializing in Linux kernel security to join a Quantum Networking Product operating systems group., * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. (MS or PhD preferred)

  • MUST have 8+ years of professional experience developing robust, enterprise-quality C++ software on Linux-based systems.
  • MUST have built core software OS as part of a platform team implementing software features across networking, management, and interoperability services
  • Understanding of public key infrastructure (PKI), X.509 certificates, and certificate lifecycle management.
  • MUST have designed, implemented, and optimized security modules within the Linux kernel, with specific focus on vulnerabilities related to kernel space., * Bachelor’s (Required), * C++ software development on Linux: 8 years (Required)
  • Linux Kernel security hardening: 5 years (Required)
  • PKI, X.509 certificates and certificate lifecycle: 3 years (Required)

Benefits & conditions

This role has ONSITE work that is REQUIRED. HQ is just west of Boston along the MBTA GREEN LINE. Some flex/hybrid work may apply but person MUST be able to get into the design lab to work on the equipment. No H1b or candidates requiring sponsorship will be considered. Target Salary range: $150,000 to $200,000 plus package/Equity.
