Job description

  • Design, integrate, test, and deploysensors for spaceflight navigation, such as gyroscopes, accelerometers, magnetometers,Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs),wireless radios,RF,star trackers, etc.
  • Leadthe development ofsimple and reliable hardware meetingthe company’sposition, navigation, and timing (PNT)and redundancy requirements
  • Driveregulatory and certification activitiesandelectrical/mechanicalfailure analysis
  • Leadacceptance and qualification testing forspace worthysensorsand EEE components(EMI, radiation, etc.)includingtest execution,datacollectionand analysis, Applicants for employment at Blue Origin must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S.as a refugee or granted asylum.

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) background check if at any time the role requires one to be on a military installation
  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.
  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in electronic design, preferably in aerospace or defense
  • Proficiency in schematic design using industry-standard tools (Altium, OrCAD, or equivalent)
  • Provenexpertisein complex circuit design, includingcomponentselection, architecture, circuit schematics, prototyping, and design for industrial manufacturing
  • Working knowledge of PCB design, assembly processes, and PCB layout software
  • Familiarity with low-noise analog and digital test equipment
  • Some software experience in C, C++, Python
  • Self-startingwho thrives in a fast-paced new product development environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Full product lifecycle gyroscope/accelerometer experience
  • Demonstrated experience in the development, prototyping, testing, and calibration of accelerometers, gyroscopes,magnetometersand inertial measurement units
  • Demonstrated experience with design of GPS/GNSS software-defined-radio and/orRF communication systems
  • Strong familiarity withhardwaretesting and the ability tooperatetest equipment such as a vectornetworkanalyzer, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, oscilloscope, power meters, and thermal chamber
  • Experience with interfacing with high-performance (low noise, high dynamic range, low bias, temperature-insensitive) analog sensors (accelerometers, gyros)
