System Engineer

• Design, deploy, administer, and maintain enterprise server infrastructure.
• Manage macOS environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.
• Administer and support virtualization platforms including VMware vSphere/ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V, or similar technologies.
• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot virtual machines, storage, clusters, and resource allocation.
• Manage Apple Business Manager and Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions such as Jamf Pro, Kandji, or Microsoft Intune for macOS devices.
• Deploy, configure, secure, and support macOS workstations and enterprise Apple devices.
• Monitor infrastructure performance and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
• Implement system patches, firmware updates, and security hardening following industry best practices.
• Monitor system logs and security alerts while responding to infrastructure incidents.
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, system diagrams, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base articles.
• Participate in infrastructure planning, technology upgrades, migrations, and strategic IT initiatives.
• Provide Tier III technical support and serve as an escalation point for complex infrastructure issues.

We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and support the organization’s IT infrastructure. This role requires a strong background in systems administration, virtualization technologies, enterprise networking, and macOS administration. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with experience managing hybrid environments consisting of Windows, macOS, cloud platforms, and virtual infrastructure while ensuring high availability, security, and performance. This job is remote from the state of California., * 3+ years of systems administration or systems engineering experience.

• Experience managing macOS environments.
• Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV, or similar virtualization platforms.
• Experience with Apple Business Manager and enterprise MDM platforms (Jamf Pro, Kandji, Intune, or equivalent).
• Experience with SAN/NAS storage technologies and backup solutions.
• Familiarity with PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripting for automation.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and system hardening.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
