Job description

Reporting into the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of the College’s MIS platforms, working closely with colleagues across MIS, Registry and Exams to ensure systems remain secure, compliant and fit for purpose., * Lead the strategic and operational management of the College’s MIS platforms.

  • Develop and deliver the annual MIS systems development plan.
  • Manage, support and develop the MIS team.
  • Ensure accurate and compliant Individualised Learner Record (ILR) submissions.
  • Produce statutory returns, funding reports and management information dashboards.
  • Maintain robust data quality processes and internal controls.
  • Manage system configuration, permissions, workflows and integrations.
  • Lead system upgrades, testing and implementation of new functionality.
  • Identify opportunities to improve automation, reporting and operational efficiency.
  • Provide expert advice and training to curriculum and support teams.
  • Develop system documentation, user guidance and data governance processes.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • Essential: Significant Management Information Systems experience within a Further Education College.
  • Strong knowledge of ILR returns, ESFA funding rules and audit requirements.
  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in Information Systems, Data Management or a related discipline.
  • Experience leading and developing teams.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Experience working with FE MIS platforms and business intelligence tools.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable experience includes:

  • Experience implementing or developing MIS systems and integrations.
  • Experience developing dashboards and reporting tools to support organisational performance.
