Job description

A well-established software and IT services company based near Sheffield is looking to hire a .NET Developer to support ongoing growth and an increasing project pipeline.

This is a hands-on role working on bespoke systems built for a range of clients. You will have the opportunity to work across the full development lifecycle and make a genuine impact on systems used by customers every day.

You will work on a range of custom-built applications, supporting existing systems while also developing new variations for incoming clients.

The role will involve working on existing customer codebases, developing and adapting bespoke software solutions and contributing across both frontend and backend development. You will also help understand and implement client-specific requirements, support testing and deployment, and contribute to ongoing system improvements., The role offers involvement across end-to-end software development, exposure to varied projects and technologies, and the opportunity to take genuine ownership of your work. Skills

  • C#
  • .NET Framework
  • .NET CORE
  • .NET

Requirements

This position would suit someone who enjoys varied work rather than being tied to a single product or codebase.

The core technologies are:

  • .NET
  • C#
  • SQL

Experience with JavaScript, Node.js or Azure would be beneficial but is not essential.

A significant portion of the work is currently based on .NET Framework, so experience or a willingness to work with legacy systems is important. There are also future projects involving modern .NET and wider system modernisation.

You should have commercial experience working with .NET and C# and be comfortable working across multiple systems and codebases.

You will need to be able to pick up existing code quickly, work independently and approach technical problems practically. An interest in being involved across the full development lifecycle is also important.

Benefits & conditions

This role could suit either an experienced developer looking for a stable, hands-on position or a strong mid-level developer ready to take on more responsibility.

The package includes:

  • £40,000 - £50,000
  • Two performance-related bonuses per year
  • Private medical insurance
  • 35-hour working week, 9am-5pm
  • 24 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
  • Christmas to New Year off in addition to annual leave

The role will initially require three days per week in the office, reducing to two days per week after approximately three to six months.

The office is not easily accessible by public transport, so a driving licence is recommended.

You will join a stable company with low staff turnover and work on real-world systems used by clients daily.
