Job description

We’re working with a growing and forward-thinking organisation based in Newcastle that is looking to add a Junior Data Analyst to its expanding team. Whether you’ve gained experience through your degree, an internship, placement year, bootcamp or personal projects, this role offers the chance to build a long-term career within a supportive environment that values learning and development., As a Junior Data Analyst, you’ll work closely with experienced analysts and business stakeholders to transform data into meaningful insights that support decision-making across the organisation., * Developing and maintaining reports and dashboards using Power BI

  • Writing and optimising SQL queries to extract, manipulate and validate data
  • Analysing datasets to identify trends, patterns and business opportunities
  • Producing regular and ad-hoc management reports
  • Supporting data quality, cleansing and validation activities
  • Assisting with reporting automation and process improvements
  • Translating business requirements into actionable reporting solutions
  • Presenting findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Requirements

This position is ideally suited to a graduate or junior professional seeking their first dedicated analytics role., * Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Business Analytics or a related discipline

  • Experience using Power BI to create dashboards and reports
  • Knowledge of SQL and the ability to write queries confidently
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good Excel skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • A genuine interest in data, analytics and business intelligence

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of DAX and Power Query
  • Exposure to Python or other analytical tools
  • Understanding of relational databases and data modelling concepts
  • Awareness of ETL processes or data warehousing principles
  • Experience gained through internships, placements or personal analytics projects, * MS Azure
