Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing technology services provider as a Data Centre Engineer, supporting the installation, maintenance and deployment of IT infrastructure across a range of client environments.

This is a predominantly field-based role, where you’ll work on infrastructure projects, install and maintain equipment within data centres and communications rooms, and support networking and server environments. You’ll work closely with Project Managers, senior engineers and clients to deliver projects safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

A full UK driving licence is essential due to regular travel to customer sites. Your day-to-day will consist of:

  • Installing servers, switches, firewalls, storage and network equipment into server racks
  • Completing structured cabling, patching, labelling and cable management
  • Supporting infrastructure deployments, hardware refreshes and data centre migrations
  • Troubleshooting hardware, cabling and network connectivity issues
  • Performing rack builds, equipment replacements and infrastructure upgrades
  • Carrying out site surveys and testing completed installations
  • Producing technical documentation, rack layouts and installation records
  • Updating service tickets and working alongside project teams and clients to deliver successful installations

Requirements

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience in data centres, server rooms or IT infrastructure who enjoys hands-on technical work and wants to further develop their infrastructure and networking expertise.
