Job description

The Microsoft Practice Lead is responsible for the strategic direction, growth, and operational success of the Microsoft practice. This role owns the Microsoft services portfolio, drives technical excellence, develops consulting and engineering capability, and ensures successful delivery of Microsoft-based solutions for enterprise customers. The Practice Lead works closely with sales, delivery, and vendor teams (5 direct reports) to maximise customer value, maintain Microsoft partner competencies, and grow revenue across the Microsoft ecosystem., * Define and execute the Microsoft practice strategy aligned with business objectives.

  • Own the Microsoft services portfolio, including design, delivery standards, and lifecycle management.
  • Drive innovation and adoption of new Microsoft technologies and services.
  • Ensure technical governance, best practice, and consistency across all Microsoft solutions.

Technical Leadership

  • Act as the senior technical authority for Microsoft technologies.
  • Lead solutions architecture for complex enterprise engagements.
  • Develop technical standards, reference architectures, and implementation methodologies.
  • Oversee quality assurance for Microsoft project delivery and managed services.

Commercial & Business Growth

  • Support the sales team with pre-sales engagement, solution design, and customer presentations.
  • Identify opportunities to expand Microsoft service offerings and recurring revenue.
  • Develop go-to-market strategies for Microsoft solutions.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Microsoft account teams and partner managers.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop Microsoft consultants, architects, and engineers.
  • Define capability development plans and certification pathways.
  • Build a high-performing Microsoft practice focused on customer success and continuous improvement

Partner & Vendor Management

  • Manage the organisation’s Microsoft partnership.
  • Ensure compliance with Microsoft partner programme requirements.
  • Drive achievement of Microsoft specialisations, designations, and solution partner status.
  • Coordinate funding opportunities, incentives, and joint marketing initiatives with Microsoft.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure successful delivery of Microsoft projects and managed services.
  • Establish service standards, documentation, automation, and operational processes.
  • Monitor practice performance, utilisation, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Drive continual service improvement across the Microsoft practice.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience delivering enterprise Microsoft solutions within an MSP, systems integrator, or consulting environment.
  • Strong technical expertise across Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Intune, Windows Server, hybrid infrastructure, security, and modern workplace technologies.
  • Experience leading technical teams and developing consulting practices.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft licensing, partner programmes, and cloud adoption frameworks.
  • Excellent commercial awareness with experience supporting enterprise sales opportunities.
  • Outstanding communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.

Benefits & conditions

Salary to £75,000 with travel paid (some international travel maybe required to the East & West coast of America). The role reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer
