Job description

Support business process automation by making beneficial adjustments to existing software programs to maximize their effectiveness. The primary function is to support efficient workflow and production by writing SQL code that creates and/or troubleshoots proper workflow sequencing within the manufacturing production life cycle., * Write SQL stored procedures, functions, and triggers using SQL Server Management for the 2020 inSight software to enable proper flow of work from start to finish of the manufacturing process.

  • Code programs, create code libraries, and run tests to determine software defects.
  • Troubleshoot and modify current procedures using SQL to enhance or solve problems within the workflow sequence.
  • Develop and maintain in-house developed VB applications.
  • Work with Project Managers to evaluate their needs, create a plan on how best to meet those needs, and communicate a time frame for correction of issues and/or implementation of new processes.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and identify modifications needed in existing applications to meet changing user requirements.
  • Maintain historical records by documenting program development and revisions.
  • Participate in opportunities to further develop knowledge and skills associated with business and/or technical processes and procedures of systems that support company needs and objectives.
  • Serve as back up to System Support Analyst.
  • Perform other duties as assigned., Sitting for long periods of time, 6-8 hours per day. Walking, speaking, hearing, and seeing. Listen and observe the environment for hazard prevention. Use hands for tools and typing. Semi-frequently lift up to 15 lbs. Some tasks may require the employee to bend, stoop, twist, and turn.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Associate’s degree in computer programming or relevant experience.

Experience and/or Training:

  • 3 years of experience working with SQL Server Management, writing complex stored procedures and functions, report writing, and troubleshooting production workflows.
  • 1 year of experience working with Crystal Reports, SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) or similar report design tools.
  • 2 years of experience demonstrating a strong understanding of relational database principles and a demonstrated ability to read and create database designs.

Licenses/Certificates: None

Technology/Equipment:

  • Knowledge of Transact-SQL, VB, ASP/ASP.net and XML.
  • Proficiency working in the Microsoft Windows environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: None

Experience and/or Training:

  • Experience with Great Plains, Sage Intacct, and 2020 inSight Manufacturing Operations software.
  • Experience working with n-tier web-based applications, REST-style protocols and programming languages.
  • Experience designing and developing custom VB applications.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes and resource planning through all stages of production cycle.
