- Design, develop, and maintain backend systems using Java and Node.js frameworks like NestJS.
- Build scalable systems using event streaming technologies like Kafka
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and implement new features and functionalities for the platform.
- Refactor and improve existing codebases to enhance performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Develop and implement RESTful APIs adhering to best practices and design patterns.
- Work with cutting-edge cloud technologies.
- Solving interesting and challenging problems alongside a great team of engineers.
- Developing new skills as you push your knowledge, and our technology, to new levels.
Requirements
- Masters in Computer Science and 2+ years of experience as a Backend Software Engineer with a focus on Java and Node.js or 4+ years of experience and Bachelors in Computer Science.
- Experience with SQL Server and/or MongoDB - writing efficient queries, designing schemas, and ensuring data security.
- Familiarity with designing, building, and maintaining RESTful web APIs.
- Experience using Jira for sprint planning and tracking tasks/bugs.
- Proficient with modern IDEs such as VS Code for day-to-day development.
- Familiarity with software development best practices, including SOLID principles, design patterns, and unit testing.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex issues.
- Passion for developing software and continuous improvement.
- Strong desire to seek pragmatic, innovative solutions to complex business and technical problems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with internal teams including customer support, product, and engineering.
- Demonstrable contributions to open-source projects.
- Experience with cloud technologies, specifically AWS and GCP, including deploying, monitoring, and scaling applications.
- Virtualization and orchestration of applications (Docker/Kubernetes/ECS).
- Experience building microservices architectures.
