Senior VDI Administrator (Citrix / AVD / Windows) | Herndon, VA Hybrid

Our client is seeking a Senior VDI Administrator to own the design, implementation, and daily operation of their Corporate IT Server and Application Services environment, with a primary focus on Virtual Desktop Infrastructure using Citrix and Azure Virtual Desktop. You will serve as the hands-on SME across a large enterprise environment, ensuring 100% availability while maintaining strict compliance with U.S. national security protocols., * Design, implement, and maintain VDI infrastructure using Citrix and Azure Virtual Desktop across the enterprise

• Create and document processes for performance monitoring, troubleshooting, capacity planning, landscape design, 24/7 support, and change management
• Perform vulnerability management, monthly patching, and maintenance across all server and VDI platforms
• Oversee configuration, testing, installation, modification, and servicing of all server components and applications
• Perform and coordinate incident diagnosis, corrective action, and root cause analysis
• Create and maintain server and application diagrams and workflows
• Manage vendor relationships for evaluation, installation, upgrade, repair, and preventative maintenance of infrastructure components
• Function as Subject Matter Expert and consultant to Cloud Operations, Cyber Security, and Systems Administration teams
• Plan and lead comprehensive systems analysis and design for new infrastructure solutions
• Ensure 100% environment availability and enforce corporate security procedures

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and hold ONLY U.S. Citizenship. No dual citizens will be considered. This is a firm client requirement with no exceptions.
• Must be a Virginia resident located within 30 miles of Herndon, VA. Travel to the Herndon office will not be reimbursed. Please do not apply if you are not already local to this area.
• Must be able to work onsite in Herndon, VA a minimum of 3 days per week. Onsite requirement may increase based on business needs.
• W-2 only. No C2C, no 1099, no third-party agencies., This is a senior-level role for someone who combines deep VDI expertise with strong Windows administration skills and a security-first mindset. • Expert-level experience with VDI technologies including Citrix and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
• Senior-level Windows administration skills including Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, and vulnerability management
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and prioritize based on system criticality

Preferred:

• Microsoft certifications such as AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-303/304, MCSE, or MCITP
• Experience integrating SIEM tools, backup solutions, and monitoring platforms
• Knowledge of NIST 800-53 Rev 4 security guidelines
• Experience working in Agile environments using sprint-based project management
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code practices including automated pipeline development, deployment orchestration, and configuration management
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, * Bachelor’s (Preferred)
