Job description
We are seeking a Database Management Specialist to join our team. You will provide expert support for database management systems, ensuring that DBMS solutions align with user requirements and operational needs. You will design secure, efficient data structures and maintain robust backup, recovery, and integrity measures across database environments. This position is fully remote; however, it will require frequent travel to Fort Belvoir, VA., * DBMS Technical Expertise and Support: Provides advanced guidance on DBMS capabilities, usage, and optimization to meet complex application and user needs.
- DBMS Evaluation and Recommendation: Assesses available DBMS products and recommends solutions that best fit validated technical and business requirements.
- Data Structure and Security Design: Defines file organization, indexing methods, and security procedures tailored to specific user applications and operational environments.
- Backup, Recovery, and Integrity Management: Develops, implements, and maintains database backup and recovery processes, ensuring data integrity, security, and overall system recoverability.
Requirements
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.
- Experience in DBMS system analysis and programming.
- Experience using current DBMS technologies and application design using various database management systems.
- Experience with DBMS internals.
- Must be capable of providing highly technical expertise and support in the use of DBMS.
- Must be able to evaluate and recommend available DBMS products to support validated user requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field of study.
Clearance Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must possess a DoD Secret clearance.
