Job description

Other Payment options: Project Based - Negotiated payments can be made upon project completion or at agreed milestones., Hours: Flexible - A requirement of overlap with 9am-5pm EST Standard Time schedule to collaborate with U.S team for meetings and questions. Responsibilities: Developers will be responsible for creating and maintaining C# based console applications, utility libraries, web services, Windows applications and web applications.

The primary area of focus for development work is centered on aspects of retail e-commerce sales including integration with distributors, marketplaces, and shipping carriers. Developers will be responsible for seamless integration with the aforementioned third-party SOAP services, RESTful services, and SDKs.

Candidates must be creative and able to lead certain project development initiatives while also focusing on new technologies that promote the company’s overall e-commerce presence.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

· Gathering information requirements from team members of varying technical skill levels

· Creation of project documentation (including time estimates)

· Working with the Lead Developer to formulate the overall architecture of new projects

· Thoroughly vetting and testing their own code to minimize production issues, While we aspire to more formal development procedures, the nature of retail work often requires a more ad-hoc and experimental approach to development, for example: making up for gaps in documentation from our business partners by testing new API endpoints with product managers before automating in earnest.

Requirements

· Candidates must possess good communication skills and a professional corporate attitude, · 3+ years software development experience outside of coursework.

· Strong C# .NET and object-oriented programming background

· Experience with custom API integrations including SDKs, serialization and de-serialization of XML objects, SOAP and REST web services, JSON, etc.

· Familiarity utilizing Entity Framework and ADO.Net for data access

· SQL Server related skills including writing T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and triggers

· Experience with source code version control systems

· Asynchronous/Multithreaded programming experience

· Experience developing Windows Forms and WPF applications, .NET and .NET Core console applications, and web services

· Experience developing unit tests with mocks and familiarity with code coverage tools (such as MS Test)

· Highly effective organizational skills

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Self-motivated/works well independently

· Excellent interpersonal skills

· Professional demeanor

Non-Required Skills (added plus):

· Experience with Azure DevOps

· Experience with enterprise message buses (specifically Amazon SQS)

Development Environment: We have a mature codebase that is large and complex. It exists in various states of quality and bears a diversity of design that comes from being maintained by around a dozen authors over nearly two decades. Candidates must be comfortable with reading, interpreting, and evaluating varied code.
