Senior Database Developer

1. Database Design and Architecture: Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance database systems that support our applications and business operations.

2. Data Modeling: Create and optimize database schemas, tables, and indexes for efficient data storage and retrieval.

3. Query Optimization: Write and optimize complex SQL queries to ensure optimal database performance and responsiveness.

4. ETL (Extract, Transform, Load): Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes, including utilizing SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), to integrate data from various sources into our databases.

5. Data Warehouse Development: Design, implement, and manage a data warehouse to centralize and streamline data for analytical and reporting purposes.

6. Power BI Report Design: Develop, design, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights for business stakeholders.

7. Database Security: Implement and manage database security measures, including access control, encryption, and authentication.

8. Performance Tuning: Monitor and tune database performance to ensure minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.

9. Data Migration: Plan and execute data migration projects, with a specific emphasis on migrating from on-premise SQL databases to Microsoft Azure cloud solutions, ensuring data integrity and minimal disruption.

10. Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data against loss or corruption.

11. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database architecture, processes, and procedures.

12. Collaboration: Collaborate with software developers and other IT team members to understand data requirements and ensure seamless data access for applications.

13. Stay Informed: Stay up-to-date with the latest database technologies, trends, and best practices, with a focus on Microsoft Azure cloud solutions, data migration, and SSIS.

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in database development and administration.

3. Proficiency in database design, data modeling, and performance optimization.

4. Strong expertise in SQL and familiarity with NoSQL databases.

5. Experience with SQL Server and ETL tools (e.g., SSIS).

6. Proven experience in data warehouse development and managing large-scale analytical systems.

7. Hands-on experience with Power BI for designing and delivering impactful reports and dashboards.

8. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

9. Strong communication and teamwork skills.

10. Relevant certifications (Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator) are a plus.

11. Familiarity with data security and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) is a plus.

12. Familiarity with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) development and integration. Experience in designing and implementing EDI solutions for data exchange with external partners would be a valuable asset.
