Requirements
We are seeking a highly skilled Kubernetes-focused Cloud Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable, highly available systems in a high-traffic enterprise environment. This role emphasizes deep expertise in Kubernetes infrastructure (not just tools like Rancher), along with strong cloud automation and AWS provisioning experience. Top Priorities (Must-Have Focus Areas) * Kubernetes (Core Expertise Required)
- Strong hands-on experience designing, deploying, and managing Kubernetes clusters
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture (networking, scaling, security, etc.)

Rancher
- Experience using Rancher as a Kubernetes orchestration platform
- Must understand the underlying Kubernetes infrastructure, not just the interface

AWS Provisioning & Infrastructure as Code
- Strong experience provisioning AWS resources using Terraform (preferred)
- Familiarity with core AWS services (EKS, EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, etc.)

Automation
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible (nice to have but valuable)
- Ability to automate infrastructure, deployments, and operational workflows, * ~5+ years of relevant experience (flexible based on skill level)
- Strong experience with enterprise consumer and employee-facing systems
- Proven ability to troubleshoot applications and distributed systems

Expertise in:
- Web, caching, and queuing technologies in high-traffic environments
- Designing highly scalable and highly available systems
- Public cloud platforms (AWS strongly preferred)

Proficiency in:
- Containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- At least one programming/scripting language (Python, Go, PowerShell, Ruby, etc.)
- Version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.)
- SQL and Oracle database technologies
- Experience working in Agile environments, * Experience in cruise industry or other high-availability, customer-centric environments
- Certifications in AWS, Kubernetes, VMware, or Azure
- Experience with Red Hat OpenShift
- Familiarity with ITIL or IT service management frameworks
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
- Relevant certifications are a plus
What Makes a Strong Candidate
- A true Kubernetes engineer (not just exposure via tools like Rancher)
- Experience as an AWS provisioning engineer using Terraform
- Solid understanding of infrastructure automation and cloud-native design
- Comfortable operating in complex, high-scale production environments
