Job description
The PHY System team is part of Ceragon’s Radio R&D group. Ceragon delivers RF communication systems in both Point-to-Point, Point-to-Multipoint and Mesh configurations which are deployed as smart cities and internet access solutions, as well as backhaul solutions, for delivering high-speed Gigabit connectivity. As the PHY System Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in Ceragon’s Radio R&D group, leading a team of 4-5 professionals responsible for the performance and integration of modem, RF, and antenna components in our cutting-edge millimeter wave communications systems, o Lead and manage the PHY System team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence o Oversee the development of control and calibration algorithms for RFIC, antenna, and modem components. o Drive performance optimization of the PHY layer and ensure overall system performance meets or exceeds targets. o Serve as a knowledge expert for modem/system integration with RF and antenna components. o Manage the full development lifecycle, from early design to production transfer and maintenance. o Conduct and guide research on optimization techniques and algorithms for seamless integration of Analog, DSP, and MAC portions with RF, modem, and antenna components. o Mentor and develop team members, fostering their growth and expertise.
Requirements
B.E. or B.Tech. in Electronics Engineering from a major university. M.E. or M.Tech. is an advantage. Minimum 15 years of experience in designing RF and Modem-based systems, including both hands-on and leadership roles. Previous experience in C/C++ and Python programming. Previous experience in as many of the following areas: o Strong background in DSP, Communications, or Radar algorithms. o Hands-on experience in analog and RF hardware design and verification - must o Familiarity with wireless communication protocols (e.g., WIFI, WIMAX, WIGIG). o Experience working with millimeter wave frequency bands (60GHz and above). o Experience working in an Agile environment, with hands-on experience using Jira, Confluence, and Git for project tracking, documentation, and version control Skills and Attributes o Broad vision as a system engineer with excellent design and problem-solving skills. o Ability to lead independent research on new topics and propose innovative solutions. o Passion for mentoring and developing team members. o Strong analytical and hands-on skills to tackle complex situations and guide team members. o Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written. o Outstanding interpersonal and leadership abilities.
