Job description

CGI is looking for an experienced Sr. SAP Data Migration Consultant to work closely with our clients and project team. The successful candidate will develop Master Data Management (MDM) and data-migration solutions throughout the full lifecycle of an SAP greenfield implementation. This includes migrating data from various legacy systems. The project scope includes data cleansing, data validation, data consolidation, and the successful loading of data into the S/4HANA system.

This position is located in one of CGI Federal’s offices in Fairfax, VA; Lebanon, VA; Lafayette, LA; or Knoxville, TN; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable. You will be required to work in a CGI Federal office two days per week.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement data-migration strategies, including data mappings, data-cleansing rules, and validation procedures.

  • Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes from legacy systems to S/4HANA using SAP Data Services or other tools.

  • Collaborate with the client team to understand data-migration requirements and provide expert guidance by conducting client sessions.

  • Conduct data-quality assessments and implement data-cleansing activities.

  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of data-migration processes and procedures.

  • Monitor data-migration processes, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely resolution.

  • Provide training and support to clients and team members on data-migration best practices.

  • Ensure compliance with data-privacy and public-sector regulations and standards throughout the data-migration process.

  • Work closely with the project team to ensure successful data-migration and cutover activities.

Requirements

  • Due to government contract and/or clearance requirements, U.S. citizenship is required, as well as successful completion of a CGI background check prior to beginning work. Candidates must also have the ability to obtain and maintain a DHS/CISA EOD/Public Trust clearance.

  • Six or more years of experience in SAP end-to-end implementations and data migration.

  • Must have experience with SAP BODS and S/4HANA Migration Cockpit

  • Understanding of other data-load methods and ETL tools such as LSMW, LTMC, etc.

  • Experience in data management, including leading data-migration execution activities: cleansing, extracting, staging, transforming, loading, consolidation, validation, and defect resolution.

  • Proficiency in SQL for complex data extraction, reconciliation, transformation, and automation tasks.

  • Expertise in data profiling and cleansing methodologies.

  • Experience designing and leading mock loads and data-validation cycles.

  • Understanding of leading practices for data-governance approaches, centers of excellence/shared-services structures, and data-governance processes and procedures.

  • Experience facilitating cross-functional team members working with complex schedules.

  • Team-lead expertise, including stream planning, status reporting, governance management, managing team progress against the plan, and escalating risks, issues, decisions, and changes, as well as budget management.

  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
