Job description

Seeking a highly organized and motivated Data Architect to join our team in support of NAVSEA Naval Shipyard Support Office (NSSO). This role requires strong knowledge of enterprise dataarchitecture, database design, and Navy shipyard IT systems; data integration, data warehousing, and analytics infrastructure supporting ship maintenance operations, while designing and maintaining data architectures for ship maintenance metrics and analytics, supporting data integration across multiple Naval Shipyard IT systems, and enabling comprehensive analytics and reporting capabilities for NAVSEA leadership decision-making.

Responsibilities:

Requirements

We are finding that the client strongly prefers candidates with Navy experience, preferably with exposure to either NAVSEA or inventory. I don’t think we’ll get traction with candidates lacking Navy experience. The NAVSEA and inventory experience are not absolute musts, but I would treat the Navy experience as such., Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field

4 7 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise management

Demonstrated experience with relational databases, SQL, and data modeling

Highly Desired Qualifications

Master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field

10 years of experience in enterprise data architecture

5 years of experience with data integration and data warehousing technologies

Experience supporting DoD or Navy programs

Experience with business intelligence tools and dashboard development

Familiarity with Naval Shipyard IT systems and ship maintenance data

About the company

Also, the salaries are listed below with the jobs. I know the salary for the Data Architect role is pretty brutal at $105k. The issue is that the client is ok with candidates who only have 4-5 years of experience which is keeping the rate lower than it should be. We may be able to stretch is to $110k for the right candidate but we are definitely challenged on the compensation. Our Benefits Summary is also attached so you can give candidates a clearer picture of what the total compensation will look like.

On a brighter note, this is business that we have already won so both of these jobs will definitely be filled with candidates that we find.

These jobs are expected to run for 5+ years and already have funding. The Navy releases work orders 12 months at a time but it would be a huge failure if the engagement only ran for 12 months.

Candidates must hold an active Secret clearance or higher and work 100% onsite in Portsmouth, VA.
