Job description

BDNet Corporate Networking, a leading IT Managed Services Provider based in Chantilly, VA, is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Junior Systems Engineer to join our team. This entry-level position is ideal for tech-savvy professionals seeking to develop and expand their skills in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. You’ll work closely with team members and clients to ensure seamless setup, maintenance, and delivery of IT equipment and solutions. This role also provides valuable exposure to Networking, Servers, Security, and Cloud Infrastructure, contributing to your growth as a well-rounded IT professional., * Set up new computers and configure systems according to client requirements, ensuring readiness for deployment.

  • Manage and maintain accurate records of client equipment inventory, tracking all hardware assets throughout their lifecycle.
  • Oversee internal sales inventory, collaborating with sales and procurement teams to ensure hardware availability and condition.
  • Perform basic hardware repairs as needed, diagnosing technical issues and facilitating quick resolutions to minimize downtime.
  • Carry out secure asset wiping and proper disposal of decommissioned equipment, adhering to data protection and environmental standards.
  • Coordinate equipment shipping, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to clients and remote sites.
  • Arrange and process equipment returns, handling logistics and documentation in line with company protocols.
  • Deploy computers and related peripherals (monitors, printers, etc.) onsite at client locations, providing setup and basic user orientation.
  • Troubleshoot basic networking issues onsite, including connectivity and configuration problems, escalating complex issues as necessary.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or relevant technical certification in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong interest in computer hardware, peripherals, and IT systems.
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DHCP, Wi-Fi setup, etc.).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in managing inventories and documentation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues independently and efficiently.
  • Customer-focused approach with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and move hardware equipment as required.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites for onsite deployments and support.
  • Valid driver’s license (if required for onsite visits).
