Job description

The Software Engineer is responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining software solutions that generate documents for print, mail, and electronic delivery. As part of a collaborative software engineering team, this role works closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver solutions that meet client requirements, while also supporting the operational needs of Usio Output Solutions.

This position analyzes client requirements, develops and implements code changes, validates solution functionality, and ensures accuracy and timely delivery. While most work is centered on document generation solutions, this role also contributes to client integration needs, new product development, process automation, and other software engineering initiatives as business needs arise.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for collaborating effectively with both technical and business stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle., * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or another related technical field.

  • Professional experience as a Software Engineer or Software Developer, or equivalent academic/internship experience, with demonstrated knowledge in Java development.
  • Familiarity with development tools and technologies including IntelliJ IDEA, Git, MSSQL, APIs, Adobe Acrobat Pro, SFTP, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), and other Windows-based productivity tools.
  • Strong understanding of software development principles, including writing clean, maintainable code while adhering to quality assurance, and data security standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and clients.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with a positive attitude, strong sense of ownership, and willingness to learn new technologies and processes., * 2-5 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer or Software Developer, with hands-on experience developing and maintaining full-stack Java applications, including backend services, APIs, database integration, and user interface technologies.
  • Experience in integrating applications with external data sources and working with file-based data exchanges, including XML, JSON, CSV, and delimited text formats.
  • Familiarity with BCC software solutions, including Architect REACH, or similar document composition and production workflow platforms.
  • Experience working in the print/mail industry, including familiarity with USPS postal processes, mailing requirements, document production workflows, and USPS mailing standards.
  • Familiarity with C#, Visual Studio, .NET Core, Azure, and web development technologies such as HTML and CSS.
