Job description

Veeam Kasten for Kubernetes is Veeam’s Kubernetes-native data protection platform, purpose-built for modern cloud-native applications and AI-driven workloads. As enterprises accelerate Kubernetes adoption and container-based platform modernization, Kasten is positioned to be the data protection standard for cloud-native infrastructure.

The Kasten Specialist Solutions Engineer partners with the Kasten Sales Specialist to drive technical wins across enterprise accounts in the US West and US Central geographies. You will own the technical sales cycle end to end: discovery, architecture, demonstration, proof of concept, and technical close. You will also serve as the primary field voice back to Kasten Product Management on requirements and roadmap gaps.

This is a quota-carrying, customer-facing role. You are accountable for the technical win.

Strong preference for location in PST What You’ll Do

  • Lead all pre-sales technical activities across assigned territories, including discovery, solution architecture, demonstrations, and POC execution
  • Deliver compelling technical presentations and product demonstrations to enterprise technical evaluators, architects, and senior leadership
  • Architect Kasten solutions against customer requirements and enterprise security and compliance frameworks
  • Scope, manage, and drive POCs to technical closure on aggressive timelines
  • Translate customer business objectives into Kubernetes data protection requirements and solution designs
  • Support lead generation activities including industry events, webinars, and technical briefings
  • Collaborate with Red Hat, AWS, and other ecosystem partners that are critical to advance co-sell opportunities
  • Work closely with regional channel partners and system integrators to support partner-led technical evaluations
  • Provide structured product feedback to Kasten Product Management based on field experience and customer requirements
  • Travel up to 40% within US West/Central and occasional global travel

Requirements

  • 7+ years of pre-sales or solutions engineering experience in enterprise software, with demonstrated success in North American enterprise markets
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes-based products in production or evaluation environments, including Red Hat OpenShift, AWS EKS, or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes data protection, backup and recovery strategies, and cloud-native storage architectures
  • Familiarity with enterprise procurement processes and channel dynamics
  • Ability to translate complex technical capabilities into business value for both technical evaluators and senior enterprise stakeholders
  • Highly energetic and resourceful, with a hands-on, get-it-done approach and a strong desire to own outcomes in a fast-moving environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present to groups of varying size and seniority

Bonus Skills

  • Experience selling Kubernetes platforms, cloud-native infrastructure, and/or data resilience solutions
  • Background selling to enterprise DevOps, Platform Engineering, or IT Operations teams
  • Familiarity with the Red Hat OpenShift, AWS EKS, or VMware Tanzu ecosystems
  • Experience launching or growing a new product or business in an enterprise account base
  • Previous experience in a high-growth or scaling startup environment

Benefits & conditions

  • Unlimited paid time off, 12 paid holidays including 4 global VeeaMe Days for self-care and 24 paid volunteer hours annually through Veeam Cares
  • Paid parental leave: 8 weeks for all parents, 16 weeks for birthing parents
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage starting on your first day
  • Mental health support, therapy sessions, and digital wellness tools via our Employee Assistance Program
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions
  • Fertility, adoption, and surrogacy support through Maven, plus paid volunteer time
  • AirVet: 24/7 virtual veterinary care at no cost
  • Legal services, identity protection, and supplemental health insurance options
  • Tax-advantaged spending accounts for healthcare, dependent care, and commuting
  • Opportunities to learn and grow through on-demand libraries (LinkedIn Learning, O’Reilly), mentoring, workshops, and learning events like our annual Global Day of Learning
