Job description

Position Summary: Provides information systems support of specified departmental software through the maintenance of necessary clinical applications and hardware. Ensures compliance with application security protocols. Provides technical support to all users by interpreting and troubleshooting system errors.

Critical Tasks:

  • Implements software upgrades and enhancements to ensure applications meet user needs.
  • Acts as a liaison between clinical and information technology staff to ensure alignment of clinical requirements and IT capabilities.
  • Provides end-user training on applications to ensure understanding of functionality.
  • Assists end-users with navigating between application areas by developing shortcuts as needed, removing and replacing with education best practices.
  • Handles service desk tickets within area of responsibility.
  • Resolves technical malfunctions by troubleshooting and interpreting error reports.
  • Leads conversion projects by identifying milestones, objectives, deliverables, outcomes, and deadlines while also meeting with stakeholders.
  • Develops end user reports upon request.
  • Maintains application security protocols by appropriately assigning application access to users.
  • Works cooperatively with application vendor(s) to monitor software patches, downtime, recovery plans, and upgrades.
  • Prepares and presents reports in regards to operational results.
  • Conducts routine software status checks to ensure current software is adequate.Performs other job-related activities as requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Business Administration, or Registered Nurse with at least an Associate’s Degree in Nursing, or closely related field preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in a primary care, acute care, home health, long-term care, or related healthcare setting.
  • Strong working knowledge of NextGen Suite of products such as EHR, PM, or Cerner Suite of products preferred.
  • Demonstrates ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Gila River Community and/or other Native American cultures and community health services.
