Job description

As a Senior Software Quality Engineer at Network to Code, you will embed within our product engineering teams and help raise the bar on quality for Nautobot, playing a key part in making sure we deliver the best possible products to our customers. You will be close to where development decisions happen, contributing a quality perspective from planning through release. You will also help build out our automated testing framework, establishing coverage across functional workflows, API behavior, and system performance that can grow with the product. This role reports to the Director, Quality Assurance, working closely with our product engineering teams on a daily basis., * Participate in sprint ceremonies as a quality champion, raising testability concerns early, contributing to acceptance criteria, and ensuring the team is thinking about how features will be validated before they’re built

  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to understand what is changing, what it affects, and what could break and define QA requirements early in the product lifecycle
  • Design and execute test plans and scripts across functional, regression, integration, exploratory, and performance areas
  • Test Nautobot features and functionality, documenting findings clearly, and adding automated coverage where gaps exist
  • Evaluate and document release readiness and identify and communicate risk
  • Develop and maintain automated tests and frameworks covering real user workflows and behavioral assertions

Requirements

  • A genuine quality mindset. You notice what’s wrong before anyone tells you to look for it
  • Curiosity about how things can and do break, not just whether they pass
  • The confidence to raise concerns, communicate risk, and make the case for quality clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Collaborative instincts. You build trust with the people whose work you test
  • Directness. Clear bug reports, honest risk assessments, no hedging

WHAT YOU HAVE:

  • 3+ years in software quality engineering or test automation
  • Familiarity with Python at a working level. You can read existing test code, extend it, and write new tests
  • Proficiency with modern QA tools such as Playwright or Selenium
  • Strong experience testing full-stack environments including APIs and browser based applications
  • Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Django or ORM-based framework experience
  • Network automation or infrastructure software background
  • Comfortable using Docker workflows for testing and development
