Job description

  • Perform routine and

advanced database administration tasks for Oracle 19c RAC and ASM environments.

  • Implement and maintain database

backup and recovery procedures, ensuring data integrity and security.

  • Manage access

security, database integrity, and physical data storage design.

  • Oversee data storage

management and supervise performance tuning activities.

  • Author shell scripts

for backup, restore, and monitoring tasks.

  • Monitor database

performance, space requirements, and optimize system resources.

  • Identify and track

issues, risks, and action items; provide accurate and timely status updates.

  • Assist in coordinating

software releases and upgrades.

  • Ensure compliance with

quality standards and best practices.

  • Work collaboratively in

a team environment while being capable of independent execution of tasks.

Required Technical Skills

  • Oracle RAC and ASM

administration expertise.

  • Strong knowledge of Oracle

19c architecture and features , including Pluggable Databases (PDBs).

  • Proficiency in Linux

(RHEL) shell scripting.

  • RMAN (Recovery Manager) for backup and restore

operations.

  • Performance tuning at both database and

SQL query level.

  • SQL and PL/SQL scripting for

automation and troubleshooting.

  • Patch management and applying PSU/CPU

updates.

  • Familiarity with OEM,

AWR, ADDM, and ASH reports for monitoring and diagnostics.

  • Security hardening and compliance

(encryption, auditing).

  • Capacity planning and forecasting for

database growth.

Requirements

  • Experience with Oracle

Data Guard for disaster recovery and high availability.

  • Experience with UDEV

configuration for ASM devices.

  • Exposure to cloud-based

Oracle deployments.

  • Knowledge of automation tools for database operations

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing complex issues.
  • Excellent documentation skills for procedures and standards.
  • Effective communication skills for reporting and collaboration.
  • Ability to manage time and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
