Job description

TranSouth is seeking an experienced IT Director to lead the organization’s technology strategy, infrastructure, and IT operations. This role is responsible for directing the IT department, driving the adoption of AI-powered automation, and aligning technology initiatives with business goals. TranSouth is growing rapidly, and this role will play a key part in integrating the technology and systems of newly acquired companies and locations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong track record of managing IT teams and implementing automation and technology solutions in a fast-growing environment. This is a remote position reporting to Dereck Pristas, President of TranSouth, with approximately 25% travel required, primarily to and from company headquarters in Nashville, TN., * Develop and execute the company’s IT strategy and roadmap in alignment with business objectives

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the IT department, including hiring, performance management, and professional development
  • Lead IT integration efforts for acquisitions and new locations, including systems consolidation, data migration, and standardization of tools and processes
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement AI and automation solutions to improve operational efficiency across the organization
  • Oversee IT infrastructure, systems architecture, cybersecurity, and data governance
  • Direct software selection, implementation, and integration efforts
  • Manage IT budgets, vendor relationships, and technology contracts
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements
  • Partner with leadership to identify technology-driven opportunities for growth and cost savings
  • Establish IT policies, standards, and best practices across the organization
  • Monitor emerging technology trends and assess their potential business impact
  • Travel to TranSouth headquarters in Nashville, TN and other company locations as needed (approximately 25%)

Requirements

  • Extensive, proven experience in information technology, including hands-on work with AI and automation technologies
  • Significant management and team leadership experience, including experience managing a remote/distributed team
  • Demonstrated experience directing IT operations, strategy, and infrastructure
  • Experience leading IT integration in a fast-growing or acquisitive company (e.g., merging systems, standardizing infrastructure across newly acquired entities)
  • Strong project management, budgeting, and vendor management skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel approximately 25%, primarily to Nashville, TN
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field
  • Prior experience in an IT Director or senior IT leadership role
  • Experience implementing AI-driven automation at scale
  • Experience supporting M&A activity and post-acquisition IT integration
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, CISSP, ITIL)
