Job description

Serve as a Platform and Automation engineer for Linux system environments

Provide end-to-end ownership of complex Linux system environments

Work with teams to keep systems running smoothly and securely

Serve as the team’s expert and owner for all things systems administration

  • You are the first line of defense against a variety of server threats

Monitor alerts, triage outages, and come up with plans to solve issues

Automate processes such as:

  • System provisioning
  • Log Parsing
  • Data Transformations
  • Operational workflows

Administer enterprise Linux servers including:

  • Operating system patching
  • Security hardening, monitoring, and troubleshooting

Administer AWS cloud accounts with Terraform

  • Troubleshoot and debug via the AWS Console and CLI

Handle data storage and indexing systems operations, including:

  • Monitoring, backup management, and upgrades

Configure and maintain web servers, including:

  • Monitoring and configuration management

Design, build, deploy, maintain, and secure platform infrastructure

Requirements

5+ years of experience with the following:

  • Platform, Automation, and/or Infrastructure engineering
  • Linux engineering
  • Cloud administration

Proficient using the following languages for automation, scripting, and/or programming:

  • Python
  • Ansible
  • Bash/go (preferred)

Ability to troubleshoot server hardware failures

Applied knowledge in operating system security and hardening

Experience in patch/configuration management in enterprise production environments

Exposure to operation and configuration of database and web server technologies

Experience with automation frameworks

  • Specifically Ansible, to write scripts and automate security processes

Experience with Kubernetes (preferred)

Experience with Docker / Containerization / Container Orchestration (preferred)

DevOps and/or CI/CD pipeline experience (preferred), * Platform and/or infrastructure engineering: 5 years (Preferred)

  • Linux engineering: 5 years (Preferred)
  • cloud administration: 5 years (Preferred)
  • Python: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Ansible: 3 years (Preferred)
  • automation engineering: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Configuration management: 3 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Full-Scope Polygraph Security Clearance (Preferred)
