Job description
- Design, develop, enhance, optimize, refactor, test, debug, verify, validate, and maintain embedded firmware solutions.
- Evaluate existing firmware platforms for optimization, scalability, maintainability, and feature enhancements.
- Develop and maintain software frameworks, middleware, device drivers, and firmware components.
- Establish coding standards, development methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Troubleshoot issues from testing, field deployments, and customer incidents.
- Manage firmware releases, version control, and software updates.
- Support verification & validation planning and execution.
- Prepare technical documentation and reports.
- Collaborate with R&D, Product Management, and Engineering teams.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, continuous improvement initiatives, and evolving technical responsibilities.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers (Senior level).
Requirements
- Firmware Engineer: 7+ years of experience
- Senior Firmware Engineer: 10+ years of experience
Local candidates preferred. Non-local candidates will be considered if willing to self-relocate., * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Embedded Systems, or related field (equivalent experience considered).
- 7+ years (Firmware Engineer) / 10+ years (Senior Firmware Engineer) of hands-on Embedded Firmware Development.
- Strong experience throughout the complete embedded firmware development lifecycle (design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance).
- Expert in Embedded C, C++, RTOS, and QNX (Mandatory).
- Experience developing firmware for microprocessor-based embedded systems.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, software architecture, design patterns, and real-time system design.
- Experience with Linux-based embedded systems.
- Hands-on experience with NAND Flash, NOR Flash, and DDR4 memory.
- Experience with UART, I2C, SPI, Ethernet, and multithreaded embedded applications.
- Proficient with IDEs, embedded development environments, debugging tools, emulators, firmware testing & validation tools.
- Experience with Git, SVN, and firmware version control/release management.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, verification, validation, firmware optimization, performance tuning, and system reliability.
- Experience preparing technical documentation, release notes, project estimates, and progress reports.
- Experience with software verification, validation, compliance, and release management.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, leadership, mentoring, and project management skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
