Job description
- Lead the site’s Health, Safety, Security, and Emergency Response programs, serving as the designated Site Security Officer and coordinating emergency preparedness, drills, and response activities.
- Promote a strong EHSS culture by providing coaching, communication, and engagement that reinforce safe and secure work practices across the site.
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHSS policies, procedures, standards, and training programs, ensuring employee competency and ongoing regulatory compliance.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, corporate EHSS requirements, and applicable Process Safety Management (PSM) elements, while maintaining effective site systems and programs.
- Lead and facilitate incident investigations, including root cause and human factors analyses, ensuring corrective actions are identified, implemented, and closed in a timely manner.
- Conduct risk assessments, audits, inspections, and hazard reviews to identify gaps, reduce risk, and drive continuous improvement in EHSS performance.
- Ensure findings from investigations, audits, inspections, and compliance reviews are documented, communicated, tracked, and closed in accordance with site and corporate requirements.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, site leadership, and environmental resources to drive integrated EHSS performance, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health & Safety, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of EHSS, safety, or related experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance requirements.
- Experience with incident investigation, root cause analysis, and problem-solving tools.
- Proven ability to develop, implement, and track corrective and preventive actions to closure, ensuring effectiveness and sustainability.
- Familiarity with PSM and high-hazard operations preferred.
- Experience developing and maintaining safety programs, procedures, and training systems.
- Strong communication, coaching, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work independently and lead EHSS initiatives in a plant environment.
- Proficiency in standard business tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, SAP or similar systems).
