Job description

Job Summary: The Sr System Engineer, supporting our CTSE program, is responsible for supporting the development, analysis, and integration of linear, non-linear, and digital control systems by collaborating closely with customers to understand technical requirements and mission needs. The position works across design and development domains to create, review, and document system-level operational concepts, ensuring seamless platform integration and rigorous verification and validation of complex system designs against functional specifications. Additional responsibilities include contributing to proposal development through technical writing, cost estimating, and presentations, as well as producing high-quality technical documentation, specifications, and standards. The role requires strong communication skills, the ability to work both independently and with internal and external stakeholders, and a willingness to travel domestically and internationally approximately 10-15% of the time., * Attend customer meetings for the purpose of understanding their requirements related to linear and non-linear control systems including digital controls

  • Work with the design and development domain control systems
  • Review, develop and document system level operational concepts and mission statements
  • Understand platform integration requirements at the platform level
  • Verification and validation of highly complex system designs to ensure conformance with functional specifications and customer requirements
  • Support proposal development activities, including proposal text development, cost estimating and presentation activities
  • Produce and/or review technical documents, specifications and standards
  • Ability to effectively document and communicate designs, results, reports, status and presentations
  • Work independently and with internal/external organizations

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or other relevant degree
  • 5+ years of experience in Servo Control, Motion Control, or Navigation.
  • Proven experience in classical linear and non-linear control including digital control preferred

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of approximation and Kalman filters
  • Knowledge of inertial sensors
  • Working knowledge of C language and MATLAB is a must.
  • Experience with design and development in time and frequency domain control systems
  • Ability in development of models and simulations of dynamic systems in Simulink

Travel/Physical Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally 10-15% travel will be required for the position.
