Job description

As our company continues to grow, we’re looking for an experienced Lead Systems Engineer who wants more than just another IT job. We’re seeking someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, leading projects, mentoring technicians, and helping shape the future of a growing company.

This is not a help desk position, and it is not an entry-level role. We’re looking for a technical leader who can take ownership, build trust with clients, and deliver outstanding results.

What You’ll Do

As our Lead Systems Engineer, you’ll serve as the senior technical resource for our clients and internal team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design, deploy, and support Windows Server environments
  • Administer Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, and SharePoint
  • Configure and maintain Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, wireless networks, and VPNs
  • Manage Hyper-V and/or VMware virtualization environments
  • Plan and execute server, network, and Microsoft 365 migrations
  • Troubleshoot advanced server, workstation, networking, and cloud issues
  • Implement cybersecurity best practices including MFA, endpoint protection, email security, and backup solutions
  • Provide onsite and remote support to business clients
  • Document client environments and maintain accurate technical documentation
  • Mentor junior technicians and assist with technical training
  • Lead infrastructure projects from planning through completion
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while building long-term client relationships

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of professional IT experience supporting business environments
  • Strong experience with Windows Server administration
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365 environments
  • Advanced networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and firewall configuration
  • Experience supporting virtualization platforms such as Hyper-V or VMware
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Preferred

  • Experience working for a Managed Service Provider (MSP)
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune and Azure
  • Experience with Fortinet, SonicWall, Ubiquiti, Cisco Meraki, or similar platforms
  • Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions
  • Experience with RMM and PSA platforms
  • Experience leading technical projects and mentoring other technicians

Preferred Certifications

One or more of the following is preferred:

  • CompTIA Network+
  • CompTIA Security+
  • Microsoft Certifications
  • Cisco CCNA
  • Fortinet Certifications
  • VMware Certifications
  • Microsoft Azure Administrator

Equivalent experience will be considered.
