Job description

  1. Apply MBSE methodologies to develop and maintain system architecture models, supporting requirements, design, analysis, verification, and validation activities.

  2. Requirements Management: Develop, document, and manage requirements baselines throughout the lifecycle. Ensure full traceability and alignment with DoD standards, and lead resolution of requirements issues.

  3. System Design and Integration: Contribute to and lead aspects of system design and integration, ensuring compliance with performance, reliability, maintainability, and safety standards.

  4. Verification and Validation: Develop verification strategies, author test plans, and lead execution activities to validate system performance against requirements.

  5. Technical Documentation: Generate and maintain detailed technical documentation, including specifications, interface definitions, and test artifacts, for internal and customer use.

  6. Collaboration: Coordinate with cross-functional teams including software, hardware, and specialty engineering to drive integration and ensure successful project outcomes.

  7. Compliance: Ensure engineering processes and deliverables meet DoD acquisition policies, standards, and customer requirements.

  8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Conditions:

Employee will be working within an office environment. Employee may be expected to travel on occasion to locations where specific PPE or attire is necessary.

Requirements

Long Wave Inc. is seeking a mid-career Systems Engineer to take ownership of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), requirements management, and architecture development for Department of Defense (DoD) programs. This role is suited for engineers with several years of experience who can manage requirements baselines, contribute to system-level design, and ensure compliance with program standards while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams., * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

  • Experience with MBSE concepts and tools (Cameo experience preferred).
  • Security Clearance: Active DoD Secret clearance or higher is preferred.
  • ship and Eligibility for a DoD Clearance is required.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience with DoD acquisition processes, lifecycle management, and air vehicle (aircraft) integration
  • Tools: Familiarity with simulation and modeling tools, and experience with Agile development methodologies.

  • This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
