Job description

  • Help lead projects from pursuit through final design and construction support
  • Develop project execution plans including scope, schedule, and staffing.
  • Manage bridge design and design-build projects independently, ensuring timelines and quality expectations are met.
  • Assist with proposal development and development of schedule, design, and quantities.
  • Ability to coordinate directly with contractors and multidisciplinary design teams
  • Perform and oversee structural analysis and design of steel and prestressed concrete bridges.
  • Provide constructability input during design-build pursuits.
  • Participate in design-build meetings, risk reviews, and value engineering workshops.
  • Support alternative technical concepts and proposal development.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support skill development.

Requirements

SPM Resources has an immediate need for a Design-Build Bridge Engineer for a rapidly growing transportation engineering firm in Charlotte, NC. Will support heavy structural bridge design-build engineering projects in SC, NC, FL, and GA. Qualified applicants will have a BS in Structural or Civil Engineering, a PE license, and the desire to be a part of taking a growing organization to the next level. Will be an integral part of the leadership team delivering on large-scale transportation and infrastructure development. Opportunity is based in their new Charlotte, NC engineering headquarters. Will help lead bridge design and design-build projects with autonomy, supported by management and staff., * 5+ years of bridge design experience with increasing responsibility.

  • Ability to work directly with contractors and owners and lead projects independently.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation. ProjectWise, and structural analysis software.
  • Strong experience in SC, NC, FL, and GA; other states a plus.
  • Prior design-build project experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable in fast-paced design-build environment
  • PE license required or ability to obtain within one year.
