Senior Backend & DevOps Engineer

The Senior Backend & DevOps Engineer will lead the design, development, deployment, and operation of scalable TypeScript-based backend systems. You will be responsible for architecting reliable services, establishing DevOps best practices, mentoring engineers, and driving technical decisions that improve performance, security, and developer productivity., * Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services using TypeScript and Node.js.

• Architect RESTful APIs, GraphQL services, and event-driven systems.
• Lead the design of microservices and distributed systems.
• Optimize database schemas, queries, and caching strategies for performance and scalability.
• Establish coding standards, architectural guidelines, and development best practices.
• Review code, provide technical guidance, and mentor engineering team members.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and implement long-term solutions.
• Drive technical planning and participate in architecture reviews.

DevOps & Cloud Instrafrusture

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud-native infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines to enable automated testing, deployment, and rollback.
• Manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation.
• Configure monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting for production systems.
• Improve deployment reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
• Implement disaster recovery, backup strategies, and high-availability solutions.
• Optimize infrastructure performance and cloud costs.

Security & Reliability

• Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms (JWT, OAuth2, RBAC).
• Apply DevSecOps practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Conduct security reviews, vulnerability remediation, and dependency management.
• Establish monitoring and incident response procedures.
• Ensure compliance with security and operational best practices.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Mentor backend and DevOps engineers through code reviews and technical coaching.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, QA, and platform teams.
• Lead technical discussions and architectural decision-making.
• Improve engineering processes, documentation, and development workflows.

• 5+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong expertise in TypeScript and Node.js.
• Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and distributed systems.
• Experience designing REST APIs, GraphQL APIs, and microservices.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and database optimization.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience deploying and operating production workloads on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Strong experience building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation).
• Strong understanding of Git workflows and automated testing.
• Experience implementing observability using Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK, or similar tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS, or AWS SQS.
• Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD), CQRS, and Event Sourcing.
• Experience with serverless architectures and cloud-native services.
• Familiarity with API gateways, service meshes, and load balancing.
• Experience with multi-region deployments and disaster recovery planning.
• Knowledge of SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, or similar compliance frameworks.
• Contributions to open-source projects or technical communities.
