Job description

  • Contribute to the improvement of the development and build process
  • Design and develop production-grade, enterprise-level systems making extensive use of messaging and microservices
  • Participate in the Java implementation of a microservices solution, writing reliable, fast, scalable and secure backend code that meets requirements and service level agreements
  • Write OAUTH authentication mechanisms and implement validation mechanisms as unit and integration tests
  • Assist with deployment and configuration of the system, including setting up CI/CD pipelines, using Kubernetes and Docker
  • Work as part of a Scrum team, following Agile procedures and providing work estimates upon request
  • Write technical documentation, accounting for secure coding practices, logging and auditing features
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with peers and upper layers of the organisation when needed
  • Use Git following pull request procedures, writing clean, secure and high-quality code

Requirements

  • Minimum 9 years of relevant IT professional experience in Java backend development, at least 3 of which in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Minimum education level corresponding to the requested category
  • Minimum English language proficiency: CEFR B2
  • Sound knowledge of Java, with hands-on experience in Spring Boot 3 and Vert.X, and provable working experience in Vert.X solutions
  • Provable working experience integrating TensorFlow and TensorFlow Java bindings
  • Sound knowledge of REST APIs and microservices design and development, unit testing in Java, and the OAUTH standard and application design, with provable working experience
  • Sound knowledge of integration and messaging technologies, including Apache Camel, Apache NiFi 2.0, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ and Kafka Streams architecture, including Enterprise Integration Patterns
  • Good knowledge of programming on SQL Server databases with T-SQL
  • Good knowledge of OOP paradigms and SOLID principles
  • Good knowledge of software development methodologies, in particular Agile
  • Strong teamwork, communication skills and ability to work effectively within a Scrum team
  • Nice to have: experience in an international or multi-cultural environment, knowledge of Kubernetes (image creation and optimisation, stateful containers, container and pod lifecycle, Helm Charts, probes, upgrade procedures, persistent volumes), Vue.js, Elasticsearch, Azure DevOps, NoSQL and graph databases (Neo4j), and Dapr
