Job description

Astrion has a contingent opening for a Systems Administrator ( Windows ) supporting the U.S. Navy’s Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), located in Dahlgren, VA. Astrion is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Windows Systems Administrator to manage, maintain , and secure NSWCDD’ enterprise networks and software systems. In this role, you will perform full-lifecycle administration, including hardware/software installation, configuration, and performance tuning across diverse operating environments. You will also support network security operations, analyze vulnerabilities, develop system specifications, and assist with procurement-related market research to ensure our infrastructure meets federal and Department of War guidelines.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of professional experience in relation to Windows system administration of networks and software systems
  • Experience in system backup/recovery, basic software management, security and library management, installation and configuration of hardware, operating systems and COTS software, operating computer systems in different operating environments, sizing, performance, tuning, hardware/software /network trouble shooting and resource allocation
  • Experience in maintaining proficiency in major network security tools such as firewalls
  • Experience developing system specifications and performing market research procurement tasks
  • Qualified experience with different network protocols including TCP/IP
  • Qualified experience of computing and networking vulnerabilities and the latest detect methods
  • This position is required to be designated as IAT II level with a T5 investigation., * Bachelor’s level degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems
  • CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA +, or CCNA
