Job description

Quest Diagnostics is hiring a Developer, Cache to support and enhance laboratory and healthcare systems. This role focuses on Intersystems Cache/ObjectScript development and Cache system administration, including maintaining and modifying lab applications, refactoring legacy MUMPS code, and supporting production environments. Requirements

  • Strong Intersystems ObjectScript programming with custom classes and SQL data classes for complex, scalable enterprise applications
  • Strong Intersystems Cache system administration, configuration of system connectivity, disk space, devices/printers, licensing and capacity
  • Refactor older MUMPS code into modern ObjectScript routines and classes.
  • Experience with Cache Server Pages, Web services, Javascript/CSS, and XML/XSLT
  • Build and maintain data integration/interfaces (HL7, FHIR, JSON, XML) and web services (SOAP/REST)
  • Unix/Linux Shell scripting
  • Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases
  • Proficiency in healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR).
  • Excellent problem-solving and design skills
  • Experience with LIS/BIS systems will be added advantage.
  • Experience with upgrading systems from Cache to IRIS would be added advantage.
  • Experience with lab instrument data acquisition and instrument middleware, such as Data Innovations Instrument Manager
  • Provide technical assistance, document solutions, and manage/monitor development/production environment

Required Work Experience:

  • 8+ yrs of experience with Intersystems Cache, Cache Objects, Mumps

Skills:

  • Critical thinking, * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or related field. (Required)
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies. Experience with database design and optimization. (Preferred)
  • This is a remote position.
