Requirements

Who you are: You are an energetic, lifelong learner who loves designing software with reach and longevity. You want a fast-paced environment where your insight is valued and you can make an immediate impact.

The Opportunity: We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to support our enterprise-scale platform as a service (PaaS). The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in Kubernetes platforms, container orchestration, and cloud-based platform deployments, particularly in C2S, GovCloud, or similar isolated environments. This role is responsible for ensuring dependable daily operation, providing direct tenant support (up to and including Tier 3), evolving & improving platform components, meeting security requirements, and deploying scalable solutions that balance performance and cost within our 6+ multitenant clusters. This position will be performed on site at a customer location in St. Louis, MO. Active Top Secret security clearance required. We are considering candidates through July with a planned August 2026 start date.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Communicate effectively in both written and verbal form with peers & decision makers
  • Excel in juggling deliverables across multiple efforts in parallel within an Agile framework
  • Demonstrate expertise in software delivery to DoD public cloud regions (C2S / GovCloud) and Kubernetes platforms
  • The ability to replace operational tasks with automated workflows, GitOps pipelines, and self-service tooling
  • Enable PaaS tenants to onboard smoothly, adopt best practices, and experience reduced friction in deploying and operating workloads
  • Design systems and platform components to maximize auditability, traceability, and real-time observability
  • Proven ability to automate complex, multi-step workflows and operational processes to reduce toil and increase reliability
  • Tenacity when tackling system security and compliance requirements

Must-haves in a Candidate:

  • B.S. in Information Technology or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in managing/administrating Kubernetes clusters, control plane components, autoscaling, and container-based workload troubleshooting
  • 2+ years of experience with AWS (preferred), Azure, or GCP cloud platforms including IAM, load balancers, and managed Kubernetes (EKS/AKS/GKE)
  • 2+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code tooling (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, etc.)
  • 2+ years of experience with scripting languages like Python and Bash
  • Familiarity with security compliance tools (e.g., Grype, Fortify, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Agile development framework
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Gitlab CI and ArgoCD

Nice to Have in a Candidate:

  • Experience administrating multitenant OpenShift clusters
  • Experience with Crossplane or similar service layer abstraction tooling
  • Experience working as part of a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)-based organization
  • Familiarity with networking security and enterprise processes for Firewall Change Requests (FCRs), Security Impact Determinations (SIDRs), and Change Requests in ServiceNow workflow systems
