Job description

The Estimator plays a key role in the development of comprehensive, accurate, and competitive estimate packages for nationwide industrial and mission-critical infrastructure projects, supporting data centers, water and wastewater facilities, natural gas facilities, and complex industrial environments This position partners closely with Estimating, Preconstruction, and Operations leadership to support strategic bid development and ensure alignment with client requirements and execution capabilities., * Collaborates with Operations and leadership to evaluate incoming Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and develop project-specific estimating strategies and bid plans.

  • Reviews project documentation and RFP requirements to establish bid checklists, scopes of work, and execution considerations
  • Coordinate with to establish project specific design strategies
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and other necessary activities required to develop RFP’s for subcontractor and vendors
  • Solicit quotes and proposals from subcontractors and vendors, and review quotes and proposals for compliance with project requirements
  • Partners with Operations to validate labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and management assumptions to support constructability and project execution.
  • Analyzes complex blueprints to determine material, labor, and equipment costs, ensuring bids for high-availability facilities remain profitable and compliant
  • Utilizes PACK Power’s estimating systems and tools to prepare, organize, and maintain accurate estimating data and documentation.
  • Ensures all estimate packages and proposals align with client requirements, contractual terms, and internal standards.
  • Attend meetings with clients, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders as required

Requirements

  • Highschool diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or relevant discipline preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience in electrical estimating, specifically focused on data centers or other mission-critical facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems including power distribution, grounding, lighting, UPS, and control systems.
  • Experience with indoor electrical construction (low voltage, medium voltage, and building systems).
  • Knowledge and experience with industrial and mission-critical infrastructure projects, supporting data centers, water and wastewater facilities, natural gas facilities, and complex industrial environments

  • Must be hard-working, passionate, inquisitive, and have the willingness to perform any task that is required (even if not listed above)
  • Ability to travel up to 25% for site visits, project meetings, and/or contract negotiations
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail with organizational and critical data analysis skills
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Suite, Project Management Software (Procore, HCSS, etc), and/or Project Scheduling Software (MS Project, Primavera, etc)
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Construction Project Management skills and concepts including estimating, contract negotiation, engineering management, workforce management, equipment management, subcontractor/vendor management, project accounting, and/or project scheduling
