Job description

  • Develop and enhance Python-based automation tools, frameworks, and scripts to improve software quality, operational efficiency, and testing effectiveness.
  • Design, develop, and maintain Python-based applications, automation frameworks, cloud services, and REST APIs supporting automation and integration platforms.
  • Analyze testing, operational, and business metrics and generate reports to monitor software quality, automation performance, and engineering productivity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather business and technical requirements and implement scalable automation and analytics solutions.
  • Evaluate and implement automation opportunities for new processes, workflows, and engineering operations.
  • Manage, maintain, and optimize GCP services including BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, data integration services, monitoring, and cloud-native applications.
  • Design and maintain data models, data pipelines, and integrations supporting reporting and analytics platforms.
  • Develop and support Qlik Sense dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights for engineering and business stakeholders.
  • Lead and support migration of reporting and analytics solutions from Qlik Sense to Microsoft Power BI.
  • Develop Power BI datasets, dashboards, reports, and data models to support enterprise reporting requirements.
  • Conduct GitHub Pull Request reviews to ensure code quality, security, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Investigate, reproduce, and troubleshoot software and system defects in collaboration with feature engineering teams.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities for software defects and infrastructure issues.
  • Contribute to solution design, development, testing, deployment, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and technical reviews.
  • Monitor and maintain automation environments, cloud infrastructure, databases, and reporting platforms to ensure reliability and availability.
  • Implement feature enhancements, bug fixes, and performance improvements across automation, backend, and analytics solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, automation engineering, backend development, data engineering, or related technical roles.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Python development, automation frameworks, scripting, backend services, microservices, and REST API development.
  • Experience designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise automation solutions and reusable software components.
  • Mandatory hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services including BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, data integration technologies, and cloud-native application deployment.
  • Python and GCP are the primary skills for this role. Candidates must demonstrate strong hands-on development experience in both areas.
  • Strong database development, administration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization experience across SQL and cloud based databases.
  • Experience designing and supporting data pipelines, ETL processes, and reporting data models.
  • Experience with Qlik Sense is desirable and will be considered an added advantage.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI is desirable and will be considered an added advantage, including dashboard development, data modeling, DAX, report optimization, and data visualization best practices.
  • Experience planning and executing BI migration initiatives, preferably Qlik Sense to Power BI.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with Git, GitHub, code reviews, and pull request approval processes.
  • Strong debugging, root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience gathering and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets and generate meaningful business and engineering insights.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across global cross-functional teams.
  • Experience developing technical documentation, user guides, integration documentation, and support materials.
  • Experience with Jira and other project tracking and defect management tools.
  • Experience in automotive software development, connected vehicle technologies, OTA systems, software validation, or digital engineering environments is preferred.
