Job description
Review and internalize Movement’s Brand Guidelines and approved prototype as the foundation for all visual design work.
Develop and refine the visual direction for Movement’s new website.
Create multiple UI design concepts for stakeholder review and approval.
Build a scalable design system in Figma, including typography, color, spacing, grids, buttons, forms, navigation, cards, modals, and other reusable components.
Apply the approved visual system across approximately 15 responsive website templates for desktop, tablet, and mobile, including location pages, activity pages, events, youth programs, blogs, media center, and more.
Produce supporting design assets such as icons, illustration treatments, and imagery specifications as needed.
Participate in design reviews, present concepts, and iterate based on stakeholder feedback.
Prepare organized, developer-ready Figma files and deliver approved components to the development team on a rolling basis throughout the project.
Collaborate with key stakeholders throughout the project.
Requirements
5+ years of professional UI or digital product design experience.
Strong portfolio demonstrating responsive website design and visual systems.
Expert proficiency in Figma, including Auto Layout, components, and design systems.
Experience designing scalable component libraries for responsive websites.
Strong understanding of typography, layout, spacing, color, and visual hierarchy.
Experience collaborating with developers and preparing production-ready design files.
Ability to work within an established brand while elevating the overall digital experience.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to confidently present design concepts and incorporate stakeholder feedback.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing websites for consumer-facing brands.
Experience with fitness, lifestyle, hospitality, retail, or membership-based businesses.
Knowledge of accessibility best practices (WCAG).
Experience creating lightweight animations or motion concepts that enhance the user experience.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the visual design of one of the nation’s largest climbing, yoga, and fitness brands.
Our website redesign is already well underway. User research, information architecture, user flows, and interactive prototypes have been completed. We’re looking for a designer who can take that approved foundation and develop a cohesive, modern visual design system that reflects the Movement brand while creating an intuitive, engaging experience for our members and guests.
You’ll collaborate closely with our Marketing, Creative, Operations, and Development teams to create production-ready designs that will be implemented on a rolling basis throughout the project.
This is a temporary remote contract position expected to run for approximately 3 months, depending on project needs and milestones.
