Job description

Aquaveo, LLC is seeking to hire part-time Technical Support Representatives in our Provo office.

This is a great opportunity for anyone looking for a job that works with a tough school or personal schedule, or someone looking for part-time experience in the hydraulic engineering industry. Our office is open 8AM to 5PM, Monday through Friday. Daily hours are flexible, and the office environment is friendly.

Our technical support team provides assistance to the users of Aquaveo’s water modeling software by means of email and phone call correspondence. Our ideal support rep would be able to communicate professionally and display strong troubleshooting skills as they work through a customer’s case. This involves a willingness to put time and energy into learning these programs, and to work closely with the rest of the tech team.

Please note that this position is a product support position, and is not IT.

Primary responsibilities for this position include:

  • Answering customer emails in the support inbox.
  • Attending training meetings for the members of the department.
  • Answering phone calls from customers.
  • Testing the software for potential bugs and reporting those findings.
  • Maintaining a high standard for professional communication and customer service.

Requirements

  • Ability to learn and understand multiple engineering software programs.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Previous problem-solving/troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to work between 15 and 30 hours a week during standard business hours.
  • Ability to come into the Provo office location., This job has a demanding learning curve, but does not require previous experience with the software. However, if you possess any of these additional qualifications, you may be just the right fit for the job.
  • Civil engineering background (or similar).
  • Previous familiarity with GMS, SMS, and WMS software.
  • Fluency with standard computer processes and programs such as excel.
  • Familiarity with the command prompt and the basics of coding.

Benefits & conditions

  • This position starts at $14/hour during initial training.
  • Once training is complete, and the employee has been checked and passed by the supervisors, pay automatically increases to $16/hour.
  • This training period depends on the individual candidate, but generally lasts about a month.
  • Several times a year, we conduct performance reviews on all of our part-time reps. These reviews come with regular 3-4% pay increases, depending on the results of those evaluations.
  • Those regular pay raises total to a 9-12% increase for every year the rep stays on.
