Job description

Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Backend Java Developer position! This is a 12-18 month contract and will be hybrid on site 4 days per week in Buffalo, NY. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered., * Design and build scalable RESTful APIs using Spring Boot to support enterprise applications and services

  • Develop and maintain Azure-based cloud solutions, including Azure Functions, Service Integration, and Key Vault implementations
  • Implement secure API authentication mechanisms using OAuth 2.0 and other modern authentication protocols
  • Integrate external APIs and services using Java HTTP client libraries while ensuring robust error handling and monitoring
  • Build and maintain automated testing frameworks and unit tests to ensure code quality and reliability
  • Leverage Azure Managed Identities for secure service-to-service authentication and resource access
  • Monitor and optimize application performance using Azure monitoring tools and logging frameworks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in Java development with deep understanding of OOP principles, data structures, and concurrency patterns
  • Proven experience building RESTful APIs using Spring Boot framework
  • Solid experience with Azure cloud services including Azure Functions, Key Vault, Managed Identities, and Azure monitoring tools
  • Demonstrated ability working with HTTP client libraries and integrating third-party APIs
  • Strong understanding of OAuth 2.0 and API authentication best practices
  • Experience with build automation tools and implementing comprehensive unit testing strategies
  • Solid understanding of error handling patterns and resilient system design
  • NOTE: Front-end/UI development is not applicable for this role.
