Job description

The IT Systems Analyst (Financial Data Engineering Analyst) provides technical and analytical support for information technology systems, applications, and business processes. This role works with stakeholders to analyze business needs, recommend technology solutions, and support the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of systems that enhance operational efficiency and service delivery. The IT Systems Analyst helps troubleshoot technical issues, document system processes, and contribute to continuous improvement of IT services and solutions.

EXAMPLES OF WORK: Analyze business processes and user needs to identify technology solutions that support operational and strategic goals. Gather, document, and translate functional requirements into technical specifications. Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate with technical teams to resolve problems and ensure system reliability. Assist with system upgrades, enhancements, integrations, and data management activities. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Three (3) years of professional experience in information technology.

Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

Knowledge of business analysis principles and system support practices.Skill in problem-solving and troubleshooting.Skill in working with enterprise systems, databases, reporting tools, or integrations.

Skill in organization and documentation.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a collaborative environment.

Ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Ability to analyze data, processes, and system functionality., Master’s Degree in Analytics, Information Systems and/or Computer Science or relevant work experience with strong preference for experience working with University of Maryland data. Data visualization software experience; specifically, PowerBI. Experience in dashboard development including: aesthetic design, dashboard storyboarding and intuitiveness of data delivered/displayed.
