Senior Software Engineering Leader

Our client is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Leader to play a critical role in the development and growth of a next-generation trust and identity platform. This is not a traditional management position. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineering leader who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, contributing code, guiding architecture decisions, and helping scale both products and teams.

• Lead the design and development of scalable, secure software solutions.
• Architect and build RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Drive technical strategy and influence product direction.
• Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and leadership teams.
• Mentor engineers while remaining actively involved in implementation and problem-solving.
• Design and optimize cloud-native solutions within AWS environments.
• Contribute to the development of systems handling sensitive and trust-related data.
• Help establish engineering best practices as the organization continues to scale.

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical initiatives while remaining hands-on.
• Strong expertise in Java development.
• Extensive experience designing and building REST APIs.
• Experience working within AWS cloud environments.
• Proven track record delivering customer-facing commercial software products.
• Strong understanding of security principles and secure software development.
• Experience leveraging AI technologies in products, platforms, or engineering workflows.

• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with evolving requirements and ambiguous challenges.

• Experience with MongoDB.
• Experience with SendGrid or similar messaging platforms.
• Background in identity management, trust solutions, credit bureaus, large-scale data platforms, or correlation engines.
• Experience building and scaling products in startup or growth-stage environments.
